Astral Travel meditation help

Difference in Astral Travel and Astral Projection.

Astral Projection: You meditate so your consciousness leaves the body and thus has limited to no awareness of the physical body sensations. Very difficult and the body fights against this because its too much like when you die.

Astral Travel: You meditate or drift in an almost day-dream state and your consciousness leaves your body but you keep a strong tether to the body and almost dual-awareness of your spirit outside the body AS WELL AS the physical body sensations. Great if you have parents that like to walk in on you and you have very little time to snap out of this and react to them. Also the body doesn't freak as much because this is more like actual dreamstate than the frightening possible death state that the Astral Projection mimics.

For beginning Astral Travelling this is what I did:

Basically you go into a meditation trance. Then imagine yourself floating up out of your body, and then look at yourself as you do so. (Note: You do not have to completely separate yourself from your physical body sensations. Just "See" it all in your mind's eye, the thing you use to visualize when you're reading or when prompted to do so by someone else. With time and practice you'll be able to register the faint spirit feelings as well as separate them from the physical feelings and know which sensation comes from which.)

You should look either transparent version of you or just a glowing white energy mass that is vaguely body shaped. Also note that there is an umbilical cord connecting you to the body and KNOW this will never break, it is not meant to break until you are ready to die and pass on from physical life. It is also how you can always find your way back to your body, just follow the cord back and you will get back. :)

But if you want to first get the hang of astral travelling then think your want to see the Earth from space and then you'll rise up and up and up and see the world get smaller and smaller like you are literally doing so, then you'll pause and be able to see all the earth from space like those old moon photographs as well. Then you are free to just call it a day for now and put hands on your cord and will yourself back to your body and watch yourself zip back into the body again.

Or if you want to go further you can keep zooming out and out and see the world get small and have its place in the solar system and then zoom out more and explore the galaxy and the fantastical colorful amazing star clusters and supernovas and gas giants that are there. Stay away from black holes for now because they can suck you in if you're not careful. You can if you want to and if it doesn't tire you, go beyond the galaxy and explore other ones, go to other star systems and explore the worlds there. Always ALWAYS remember to use your cord to zip you back home though when you're done and need to go back.

This is how you first learn how to astral travel lol or at least how I did. xP :) I hope it helps!

    1. Its best to astral travel in silence but if you want to incorporate music then either nice repetitive music without words has been recommended (you can look up nice meditation music on YouTube or look up nature sounds you particularly enjoy). But if you absolutely need music with words then try a song you know so well you don't need to think in order to know the words, and that is calming enough that hearing it doesn't make you want to spontaneous dance along, as well as something you can listen to on repeat for a long while if necessary. :)

  2. Ive heard things about forgetting it if you stay out of yor body for more than an hour or so. Is this true?

    1. I've astral travelled for more than an hour at times and as long as you keep in mind that you have the umbilical cord connection to your physical body and that you are needed back in your physical life eventually, then you can return again and not get lost. :)

      There is a risk though I will admit of truly not wanting to return and then you could perhaps get lost more on purpose and drift away but unless you truly wish to leave the physical life entirely then that would not happen. :)

  3. So you can remember if you are out for a long time? Good. I think i mightve gotten really close this morning. I was calming myself down and visualizing myself above my body looking down. Somewhat soon, i saw a flash of light and heard like a snap/crack noise. I got scared and opened my eyes. Also, i know it could not be lightning or a dream. -Etheldra

    1. Ah wonderful! I do wonder at the noise though and am not sure if that is "good" or "bad" or "neutral". It depends on your reaction and the over all feeling that you get from it. It can be as subtle as faint unease and dread [which would lead to a more negative connotation perhaps or just uneasy with the unknown] or more happiness and feeling lighter as in a subtle weightless sort [can be positive sign of improvement and that you're "on the right path". :) The light is more a common phenomenon though. :)

      You can remember if you're out a while usually like you can remember if you were out doing something for a while (highlights will be remembered but only the rarer sort get the photographic memories and remember every word that each person they meet had said, most of us remember only generalities and that will again happen with astral travelling) but some could have trouble remembering if 1) they fell asleep and are travelling in their sleep (most information during this time often does not translate to conscious awareness for some reason), or 2) they are having difficulty translating what they saw/heard/learned into understandable concepts to their human minds. Such things of the 2nd are things even I can run into and be sidelined by.

      The thing to help if 2 is the reason why you're having difficulty, is to go at your own pace and learn as much as you can, in a way that won't overload you. Study spirituality, metaphysics, energy, intuition, mind intents and projections, the psychic senses, spirits, souls, ghosts, etc. Things like this help expand your awareness and understanding enough to the point that after years you can finally understand a lot more of what you are receiving in your astral travels. Perhaps you'd be able to find out bits of the truth of your lifetime purpose, of your soul origins and memories and history, as well as how the universe actually works. :)
